There are four basic properties of any solar fabric, each one influencing how the fabric relates to light and your needs: “T” transmittance, refers to the light’s ability to pass through the fabric. “R” reflectance is measured by how much light reflects away from the fabric. “A” light absorption, directly correlates to the room temperature and refers to the light absorption abilities of the fabric. “TV” visible transmittance is the amount of solar energy that passes through the fabric and relates to the glare factor.
Note: Darker fabrics reduce glare and increase visibility with a tendency to keep rooms warmer, while lighter fabrics keep the room cooler, but may increase glare and reduce visibility. *There are dual color weaves available for customers looking for the capabilities of both a light and dark fabric.
